We started our hunting club in 1995. Just a couple of guys looking for "our own place to hunt". Since then, we have been growing and growing. Every year, we build more elevated blinds, clear more trails, and always look for better ways to improve the overall hunting experience for our members. We have purposely tried to remain fairly small. This allows us to get to know our hunters on a more personal level. We enjoy spending time telling stories around the campfire as much as dragging in that trophy buck. The one thing that sets us apart from the rest? FAMILIES! We encourage our members to bring mom, dad, son, daughter, and anyone in between. We have always strived to maintain a good family atmosphere that any wife or child can enjoy being a part of. Now, we are a good old fashioned hunting club, lies are told nightly, usually around a roaring campfire and the later it gets, the taller the tales. We may not be the biggest, the fanciest, have thousands of acres of land or a 2000 square foot lodge, but, we do have fun, in a safe hunting environment with all our family and friends. If you are looking for a hunting club that is a bit more "user friendly", we just might be what your hunting for. January 18, 2009 Well, it's been a few years since I wrote what you see above. You will be happy to know that it all still applies. I felt compelled to add to it as we start a new year... Over the years, I have seen a myriad of hunters, young, old, the eager and the not-so-much-so. We all had some things in common.....we all wanted a place where we could hunt safely, with the promise of being able to hunt this land for years to come, with our families and friends, and most of all, to do what it takes to have big bucks. The 08-09 season has been one for the books here at the club. Our biggest buck ever (most points) our heaviest buck ever (210pounds) and our most impressive overall buck (18-1/2 inside spread) have come from our lease this season. Now that's not to say that we have not taken some fine bucks from our lease over the years, because we surely have. The fact is, we have continued to do all the right things, as we saw it, to produce trophy deer. Sometimes we questioned our decisions, our philosophy, and even our own management goals, wondering if we were asking too much. All of our doubts were cast aside this season. To those of you that are still with us, still doing the right things, I thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for believing like I did, that we could make a difference. We have, and we will continue to do all the right things to keep A and N hunting club the "Best little hunting club in Alabama"! Wes Norgord President - Land Manager |
